THE HERD

The Hereford is one of the world's oldest and most respected beef breeds, originating in the English county of Herefordshire in the 18th century. Known for their docile temperament, exceptional foraging ability, and beautifully marbled beef, Herefords thrive on grass—exactly the way cattle were meant to live.

Our herd grazes rotational pastures throughout the year, moving to fresh ground regularly to mimic the natural patterns of wild herbivores. This movement stimulates grass growth, builds soil carbon, and produces cattle that are healthy, content, and supremely well-fed.

How We Raise Them

Our cattle are born on the farm and stay here in peace for their entire lives. Calves nurse from their mothers on pasture, weaning naturally. As they mature, they continue grazing our diverse pastures—a mix of grasses, legumes, and forbs that provides complete nutrition without grain supplementation.

We never use growth hormones or routine antibiotics. Our cattle receive individual attention, veterinary care when truly needed, and the low-stress handling that produces tender, high-quality beef.

Finishing happens on grass, not grain. This takes longer—typically 24 to 30 months—but the result is beef with a depth of flavor and nutritional profile that feedlot cattle cannot match.

Freezer Beef

We offer our beef as whole, half, and quarter shares, professionally processed and packaged for your freezer. Each share includes a full range of cuts—steaks, roasts, ground beef, and more—providing your family with months of exceptional meals.

Purchasing freezer beef directly from the farm means knowing exactly where your food comes from, how it was raised, and who raised it. It means supporting regenerative agriculture and receiving beef at a per-pound price that often beats supermarket organic.

Availability is limited to the number of cattle we raise each year. We encourage you to reserve your share early.

Share Options

Whole Beef: Approximately 400-500 lbs of packaged beef. Ideal for large families or those with dedicated freezer space.

Half Beef: Approximately 200-250 lbs of packaged beef. Our most popular option for families of four.

Quarter Beef: Approximately 100-125 lbs of packaged beef. Perfect for smaller households or first-time buyers.
