THE FLOCK
Heritage Breeds
The chickens at Foxmoor aren't your standard supermarket layers. Our flock comprises rare and heritage breeds—many listed as threatened or endangered by conservation organizations. These are the chickens your great-grandparents would recognize: hardy, beautiful, and capable of producing eggs with flavor and nutrition that modern hybrids have lost.
We raise these breeds because they deserve to exist—and because once you taste their eggs, you'll understand why they were treasured for centuries.
Truly Free-Range
Our chickens spend their days exactly as chickens should—outside, scratching through grass, hunting insects, and dust-bathing in the sun. They have access to fresh pasture and are protected by livestock guardian animals who keep predators at bay.
This isn't the "free-range" of industrial egg farms, where birds technically have outdoor access but rarely use it. Our chickens live outdoors. Their feed is supplemented with organic grain, but their diet is rich in the bugs, seeds, and greens that produce those deep orange yolks.
The Eggs
Heritage breed eggs are different. The shells are thicker. The whites are firmer. The yolks stand tall and proud, colored a deep marigold from all that pasture forage. The flavor is richer, more complex—eggs that remind you what eggs are supposed to taste like.
Our eggs come in a rainbow of colors—blue, green, cream, chocolate brown, and speckled—each reflecting the breed that laid it. Every carton is a small work of art.
